Elysian Trombone Consort performed work by David Fetter

Elysian Suite by trombone faculty member, David Fetter was performed by the Elysian Trombone Consort at the International Trombone Festival, held in Columbus, GA in June.  Fetter’s attendance at the ITF at Columbus State University was aided by a Peabody Conservatory Faculty Development Grant.  The group also presented the work at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles last November.

Founding member Nathan Siler (MM ’07, Trombone, Wind Conducting) recently served as auxillary second trombone of the Louisville Orchestra. He has served as principal trombone with the Orquestra de la SEC in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico and as a member of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Additional appearances include the Cleveland Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony, North Carolina Symphony, Louisville Orchestra and Tucson Symphony and Dayton Philharmonic. He has also performed with Randy Newman, Wayne Shorter and the American Brass Quintet.  He recently received his doctorate from the College Conservatory of the University of Cincinnati and will join the faculty in the fall at Kentucky State University  in the fall of 2013.
