Upcoming performances of works by Scott Pender

Scott Pender-2 smallScott Pender (MM ’85, Composition) recently recorded a new album of chamber music to be released in 2014 on the Navona label from Parma Recordings.  Many of his compositions are being performed in the coming months: On December 6, the Morpheus Chamber Players will perform Suite for Woodwind Quintet at Calvary Baptist Church in Washington, DC; December 7, the Annapolis Chamber Players present the Maryland premiere of Veil of Ignorance, for string trio at Charles Carroll House of Annapolis; December 10, pianist Eliane Lust releases her EP Entangoed, including Pender’s TANGO: Ms. Jackson Dances for the People; December 13, Pender will perform his own Toccata at Calvary Baptist Church in Washington, DC; January 16, Peabody bassoon students of Phillip Kolker will perform Five Dances at the Mansion at Strathmore in Bethesda; February 15, Rob Haskins will perform Variations for Oboe & Piano with oboist Margaret Herlehy on a Faculty Recital at the University of New Hampshire (Pender will join Haskins in performing Variations for Two Pianos, and My First Homage by Gavin Bryars); March 23, Victoria Gau and the Capital City Symphony will perform Solemn Overture at Atlas Performing Arts Center in Washington, DC.  In the spring, Pender will record his 2012 work, Foothills for Julie Donofrio’s documentary Pieced Together.
