John Belkot, doctoral student in composition, will organize the 24 Hour Concert, or 24HC, to take place on January 25 at 8 pm in Cohen-Davison Family Theatre. The process begins at 8 pm the night before, where composers find out what instruments they’re composing for and are allotted the following 12 hours to compose the music. At 8 am, the performers receive the score and have 12 hours to prepare for their performance. The 24HC is highlighted in the current issue of the Gazette, “Peabody’s amazing race: From composition to concert in 24 hours.”
