Preparatory students Sarah Cai and Abigail Lo received awards at the Maryland State Music Teachers Association Gertrude S. Brown Memorial Piano Concerto Competition, held on January 19. Cai won the Senior division, performing the second movement of Piano Concerto No. 2 by Shostakovich. Lo won the Intermediate division, performing the second movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto in B-flat Major, K.459. Cai and Lo will be featured in the Winners Concert on February 9 at Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church, Bethesda. Both are students of Hyun-Sook Park.
