Colombine’s Paradise Theatre, a critically acclaimed evening-length musical and visual spectacle by Amy Beth Kirsten (DMA ’10, Composition), will have its Chicago and New York premiere in September. The Museum of Contemporary Art (where the piece received early workshops) will host the Chicago premiere on September 12 at 7:30 pm. The Miller Theatre will host the New York premiere on September 18 at 8:00 pm. Eighth blackbird will perform the work, directed by Mark DeChiazza. The music-theatre-dance piece was hailed as a ‘tour de force’ by The Washington Post in its 2013 tour stop at the Atlas Center for the Arts in Washington D.C. Read the review here.
