Amyr Joyner (BM ’08, MM ’09, Violin) will be participating in the second annual Colour of Music Festival, October 22-26, hosted by the Charleston, S.C., Symphony Orchestra Spiritual Ensemble. The COMF showcases classical music composed and performed by black classical composers and performers from the U.S., Canada, and Europe. He will be performing along with his brothers Jarin and Khari as part of the Kaj Trio for the October 23 chamber evening recital. Over 75 presenters have been selected for the 2014 COMF and are among the most talented in the world. Other Peabody alumni include: Mellasenah Edwards, concertmaster; Kenneth Law, the COMF director of chamber music, and Cleveland Chandler, principal violin.
