“Daughters of the Bloody Duke” by Jake Runestad (MM ’11, Composition) was reviewed by Anne Midgette of the Washington Post as amusing and fun for singers and audience members alike. Runestad’s opera was commissioned by the Washington National Opera’s American Opera Initiative to write a 20-minute opera which premiered the previous Friday at the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater.
