On Sunday April 19, in collaboration with Howard University’s renowned jazz a cappella group AfroBlue, Cantate Chamber Singers will premiere Rise, a newly commissioned meditation on civil rights in America by composer Judah Adashi (MM ’02, DMA ’11, Composition) with text by the poet Tameka Cage Conley. The performance will take place at Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C., at 5:00 pm.
