The New Consort Named 2015 Winner of The American Prize in Chamber Music Performance

unnamed-1The New Consort, directed by baritone Brian Mummert (MM ’15, Voice), is the 2015 winner of The American Prize in Chamber Music Performance. The American Prize is a series of new, non-profit, competitions unique in scope and structure, designed to recognize and reward the best performing artists, ensembles and composers in the United States based on submitted recordings. The series was founded in 2009 and is awarded annually in many areas of the performing arts. Members of The New Consort have appeared as soloists with Apollo’s Fire, the American Symphony Orchestra, and the Boston Modern Orchestra Project in venues including Washington’s Kennedy Center and New York’s Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall as well as in ensembles ranging from the Choirs of Trinity Wall Street and the National Cathedral to the Santa Fe Desert Chorale and Chanticleer.
