Frances Borowsky Performs Vivaldi Double Concerto with Cecylia Barczyk and Tours Cuba

7649291_origAs winner of the Mary Graham Lasley Concerto Competition in 2013, cellist Frances Borowsky (MM ’13, Cello) will team up with her mother and first teacher, Cecylia Barczyk, to perform Vivaldi’s Concerto for 2 Cellos in G Minor with the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra in Alexandria, Virginia. The program also includes works by Mascagni, Puccini, Respighi, and Rota. The concert will take place on Saturday, February 13 at 8:00 pm at Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall & Arts Center and Sunday, February 14 at 3:00 pm at the George Washington Masonic Memorial. In January, Ms. Borowsky traveled to Cuba with her family, the American Virtuosi, for a two-week concert tour under the motto, “Music: The Best Bridge for All People,” presenting concerts and masterclasses in Havana and throughout Cienfuegos Province. A special composition by the American Virtuosi, Hola Amigos, Hello My Friends, dedicated to the people of Cuba, was performed at each concert.
