David Hildebrand Awarded Three-Month Residential Fellowship at Fred W. Smith National Library

David_HildebrandMusicology faculty member David Hildebrand was awarded a three-month residential fellowship for 2016-17 at Mount Vernon’s Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington. Dr. Hildebrand is one of 17 PhD’s and PhD candidates selected to undertake “advanced research focused on the life and leadership of George Washington, and his place in the development of American civic life and culture.” His work will continue his extensive research and publications dating back to 1999. For further information see the library’s webpage. Dr. Hildebrand is currently teaching the American Music History graduate musicology seminar this semester, and will offer the course again next year as well as a new class on “Music in Maryland: from British Colony through the American Civil War.”
