Stone Mason Projects with Pamela Stein Lynde to Perform in New York, Princeton, and New Hope

Pamela Stein LyndePamela Stein Lynde (MM ’07, Voice) founded Stone Mason Projects in 2015, a production company specializing in endeavors related to new music for voice. The group was invited to take part in a panel discussion about “What Happens When Composers Make Opera?” hosted by New York Opera Alliance at Hunter College as part of New York Opera Festival 2016.  Upcoming SMP performances include a co-production with Princeton-based group CUSP (Contemporary Undercurrent of Song Project) in the fall of 2016, a performance in N.Y.C. as part of a salon hosted by Peabody alumni-formed Rhymes With Opera, a summer festival in New Hope, Pa., featuring workshops and performances with New York based group Guided Imagery Opera, and the commissioning and creation of a chamber opera co-created by three up-and-coming female composers, including Jenny Beck (BM ’08, Composition). In July, Patchwork Project of American Song premiered Ms. Lynde’s Your Absence with Ms. Lynde as soloist at the National Opera Center in N.Y.C., as part of their first national tour. Also in July, N.Y.-based group Guided Imagery Opera premiered one of Ms. Lynde’s compositions in their inaugural New York performance. In May, she performed at Le Poisson Rouge with Helix New Music Ensemble.
