Bass-baritone Robert Cantrell (MM ’90, GPD ’92, Voice), sang a premiere of selections from Songs of Love and Loss by James Lee III, poetry by Vincent Stringer at Morgan State University on September 17. He also performed Faurè’s Requiem with the Loudoun Symphony October 8 and will perform Mozart’s Requiem with the Bay Atlantic Symphony on October 29. His 2017 events include Brahms’s Requiem with Baltimore School for the Arts/Johns Hopkins Choral and a performance of Bela Bartok’s’ “Bluebeard’s Castle” with the Columbia Symphony. In January 2018, he will be giving a solo recital as a part of the Second Presbyterian Recital Series.
