Alexander Mickelthwate (GPD ’98, Conducting) has been named music director designate of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic after a unanimous vote by a search committee that vetted six candidates over the course of two and a half years. Mr. Mickelthwate currently serves as music director of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and will serve as music director designate through June 2018. Mr. Mickelthwate will serve as the Philharmonic’s second music director and the city’s ninth music director since 1924.
