Linda Apple Monson Recognized With New Scholarship

monsonLinda Apple Monson (BM ‘79, Music Education; MM ‘81, DMA ‘86, Piano) currently serves as director of the School of Music at George Mason University and the National Association of Schools of Music Commission. Recently, thanks to a $1 million commitment from Sidney O. Dewberry, a scholarship will be provided to chosen students in her name. Linda Apple Monson Scholars will be awarded scholarships from the commitment fund for five years, starting in fall 2018. In September, she was recognized when the Grand Tier III of the Center for Performing Arts was renamed in her honor as a part of Mason’s Grand Piano Celebration.
