Sandbox Percussion Tours West Coast

sandbox-percussionSandbox Percussion – Victor Caccese (BM ’11, Percussion), Terry Sweeney (BM ’13, Percussion), Ian Rosenbaum (BM ’08, Percussion), and Jonathan Allen – will be kicking off a West Coast tour on Thursday, January 25 in Denver, Colo, in a performance for percussion students at Lamont School of Music. From there, they travel to Portland, Ore, and Seattle for performances with the Spontaneous Combustion New Music Festival on January 26 at 7:30 pm and 27 at 7:00 pm. They then travel to Los Angeles to perform with the Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra on Saturday, February 10, at 10:00 pm, and again with the same ensemble but in Santa Monica on Sunday, February 11, at 2:00 pm. On Monday, February 12, at 8:00 pm, they close their tour with a performance at Fresno State University, in Fresno, Calif. Not part of their tour, but also upcoming, is a concert at in New York City, with the Carnegie Hill Concert Series. This concert will be on Tuesday, February 20, at 7:00 pm, at the Church of Advent Hope. These concert will feature many different composers including Peabody faculty member Steve Reich, Andy Akiho, Elliot Cole, Thomas Kotcheff (BM ’10, Piano), Viet Cuong (BM ’11, MM ’12, Composition), Aart Strootman, Andrew Rindfleisch, and some by their own Mr. Allen and Mr. Caccese.
