Faculty artist Amit Peled, cello, will release a CD, To Brahms, with Love: From the Cello of Pablo Casals, to be released on June 1 on CAP Records. The CD will features Brahms cello sonatas nos. 1 and 2, and Peled will be accompanied by Noreen Polera at the piano. These sonatas were recorded by Maestro Casals in the 1930’s on the same cello used by Peled today, adding legacy to this special recording. Peled will also be presenting his cello gang in Baltimore for the first time. The concert will take place on Sunday, March 25, at 2:00 at Towson Unitarian Universalist Church. This concert is presented by the Chamber Music Society of Maryland, and will feature music by Boccherini, Ligeti, Josef Werner, Handel, Haydn, and David Popper. The cello gang consists of Peled’s students.
