Dan Trahey Leads Workshops in Chicago and Miami

_DSC6953Faculty artist Dan Trahey (BM ’00, Tuba, Music Education) led a day long workshop in Collective Composition for The Ravinia Festival and Chicago Public School Arts teachers on Friday, April 13. The workshop was inspired by the musical, social, and political life of Leonard Bernstein. This week, Trahey and Tuned In students Keith Flemming and Asia Palmer and faculty Lynette Fields will be in Miami working with the Miami Music Project and learning about college life at the University of Miami. The following week, Trahey will travel to Honduras as part of a State Department initiative. He will be working with the Honduran Youth Orchestra collaboratively composing a piece of music that will focus on the concept of America as a Continent and not as a country.
