Three Peabody organ students were featured prominently in the 43rd Annual Baltimore Bach Marathon held at St. David’s Episcopal Church. Second-year master’s student Jordan Prescott opened the marathon by pairing the Prelude and Fugue in E minor, BWV 533 with the Andante of the E minor trio sonata, BWV 528. He followed this with the profound Lenten chorale O Mensch, bewein dein Sünde groß, BWV 622 and the great Prelude and Fugue in C minor, BWV 546. GPD candidate Mi Zhou dazzled the audience with the Concerto in A minor, BWV 593 and the fiendishly virtuosic Prelude and Fugue in D Major, BWV 532. Later in the afternoon, GPD student Paul Byssainthe performed the Prelude and Fugue in A minor, BWV 543, three of the Schubler chorales and the sixth fugue on B-A-C-H by Robert Schumann. Jordan, Mi, and Paul are all students of Dr. John Walker. The concert took place on March 17.
