Faculty artists Manuel Barrueco (BM ’75, Guitar) and Tony Arnold will serve as mentors for a residency, “A Bard Meets a Guitar,” at Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Academy of Music in Boonville, Calif., November 22-24, 2019. Barrueco will bring his students Andrea Gonzalez Caballero, Jennifer Kim, Jesse Washburn, and Ruben Portillo who will join three voice students from the studio of Tony Arnold and to work with composers selected by Gabriela Lena Frank on creating six new works for guitar and voice, in various formats. The second part of the residency will take place in at the Peabody Conservatory on April 4-6, and will conclude with a concert with the world-premieres on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 7:30 pm in Griswold Hall.
