Peabody Students Win First Place in the 2022 MD/DC National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition

  • Ryan Zhou, Lower High School Classical TBB Voice (Teacher Madeleine Gray, Peabody Preparatory)
  • Abigail DeYoung, First Year Classical Treble Voice (Teacher Carl DuPont, Peabody Conservatory)
  • Giannie Nguyen, Second Year Classical Treble Voice (Teacher Carl DuPont, Peabody Conservatory)
  • Patrick O’Farrell, Second Year Classical TBB Voice (Teacher Carl DuPont, Peabody Conservatory)
  • Caroline Colvin, Third Year Musical Theater Treble Voice (Teacher Carl DuPont, Peabody Conservatory)
  • Joshua Coleman, Fourth/Fifth Year Classical TBB Voice (Teacher Carl DuPont, Peabody Conservatory)
  • Christa Beveridge, Lower Advanced Classical Treble Voice (Teacher Carl DuPont, Peabody Conservatory)
  • Darius Sanders, Lower Advanced Classical TBB Voice (Teacher Carl DuPont, Peabody Conservatory)

Further awards and recognitions were granted to other performing students.

Additionally, Carl DuPont’s students achieved multiple awards in the Mid-Atlantic Regional National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competition and the Friday Morning Music Club (FMMC) competition. The awards are the following:

  • Joshua Coleman – Achieved 1st place in Fourth/Fifth year Classical TBB Voice
  • Christa Beveridge – Achieved 1st place in Lower Advanced Classical Treble Voice
  • Darius Sanders – Achieved 2nd place in Lower Advanced Classical TBB Voice
  • Kaitlyn Heit – Achieved 2nd place in Lower Advanced Classical Treble Voice
  • Giannie Nguyen – Achieved 3rd place in Second Year Classical Treble Voice Sing-Off
  • Simone Gallion – Achieved 3rd place in the FMMC competition
  • Patrick O’Farrell – Qualified for National Student Audition in Second Year Classical TBB Voice
