Amir Farsi (BM ’16, Flute), currently a Carnegie Hall Ensemble Connect Fellows featured in the fall 2022 issue of Peabody magazine, was named one of the 10 Density Fellows—emerging flutists selected by the Pnea Foundation Board of Director with artistic direction from Claire Chase. These fellows will select a work from Chase’s ongoing Density 2036 project to study and perform in the 2023-24 season with the support and mentorship of Chase and the Density composers, which includes explorers such as George Lewis, Pauline Oliveros, Matana Roberts, and Peabody faculty Du Yun and Felipe Lara.

Baltimore native Iman Williams, a Peabody Preparatory and Tuned-In alumni currently in a flute performance master’s program at University of Cincinnati, is also one of the 10 Density Fellows.
