Preparatory alumnus Derrick Wang’s opera Scalia/Ginsburg will receive four more productions across the USA, for a running total of 20 fully staged professional productions—making it one of the most frequently produced operas written in the past decade. On Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 7pm ET, Opera Ithaca’s production of Scalia/Ginsburg is the main event at Cornell University’s first-ever Biennial Cornell Brooks School Program in honor of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Martin Ginsburg. The opera will then be performed in Los Angeles, Calif., November 17–26, 2023 with the Pacific Opera Project, and in Anchorage, Alaska, February 2–4, 2024 with Anchorage Opera, before ending its four-production run in Florida. Additionally, Scalia/Ginsburg is now available for license to qualifying university/conservatory graduate opera programs with orchestra.
