The icarus Quartet, cofounded by Matt Keown (‘17, Percussion) and percussion faculty artist Jeff Stern (MM ’14, Percussion), is one of the 1,135 projects approved for funding in the most recent round of National Endowment for the Arts grants awarded under the categories of Grants for Arts Projects, Our Town, and State and Regional Partnerships. Other recipients include ChamberQUEER (the NYC-based organization co-founded in 2018 by Danielle Buonaiuto (MM ’12, Voice)), Sō Percussion (which includes Eric Cha-Beach (BM ’04, GPD ’05, Percussion), and the Glimmerglass Festival to supporting a production of faculty artist Kevin Puts’ Elizabeth Cree.
