On July 14, The Poulenc Trio – Bryan Young (BM ’96, Bassoon); Preparatory faculty artist Irina Kaplan Lande, piano; Aleh Remezau, oboe; and guest accordionist Hanzhi Wang –performed the world premiere of Breathing Light by Juri Seo, in a sold out concert at the Newport Classical Festival in Newport, Rhode Island. Breathing Light is a new work commissioned by the Poulenc Trio, supported by a grant from the Steven Gerber Foundation. The Poulenc Trio will bring the collaboration with Hanzi Wang to the DC area next season, in a performance at the National Gallery of Art in May 2025.
