The Peabody community is saddened to mark the passing of William Nerenberg, a great champion of the arts and arts education in Baltimore. Bill’s time on the Conservatory faculty was devoted to teaching students how to carry their artistic talents forward into real-world careers, and alumni credit his Business of Music class with opening their eyes to the importance of entrepreneurialism in the arts. He was instrumental in creating the Business of Music minor. At its launch in 2003, he volunteered to head up the Peabody Presents concert booking agency for faculty, student, and alumni artists. Bill also served as a longtime advisor to Peabody’s leadership and member of the Peabody National Advisory Council. He and his wife, Dorothy Rosenthal, were regular members of Peabody audiences. We send our condolences to Dorothy and their family.
