Jennifer Davison shared her perspective as an opera singer, founder, and arts‑and‑health innovator as part of the Music, Healing, and the Creative Path online panel discussion. Her career, rooted in international opera performance and expanded through pioneering work in NeuroArts and Arts for Health, reflects the many ways artistic training can evolve into meaningful, community‑centered impact.
“My experiences at Peabody were deeply formative across my career, including my discovery and pivot into the arts and health space,” she says. “In music, we get to experience a fundamental truth: that everything is about relationship. In my Arts and Health work, it is thrilling to come into relationship with people and knowledge from so many different sectors. I love the new ways music is enabling me to connect.”

Now a leading voice in Austria’s growing Arts and Health movement, Davison has spent the past five years developing programs in healthy breathing, communal singing, and personal empowerment—including “Aufatmen” for Long Covid recovery and “Serenade for the Soul” for caregiver wellbeing. “Returning to Peabody and discovering the groundbreaking work taking place there and at Johns Hopkins in Arts and Health were seminal in my decision to dive into this work in Europe when Covid hit,” she says.
