Faculty member Michael Formanek received a 2012 Individual Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council in the category Non-Classical Music Composition. MSAC also made awards to Jazz alumni Russell Kirk (BM ’05), and Blake Meister (BM ’08), who is also on the Conservatory jazz faculty.
