Imani Mosley (MM ’10, Musicology, Bassoon) is working on project for Duke University professor and artist Pedro Lasch. Abstract Nationalism/National Abstraction: Anthems for Four Voices will be performed at The Phillips Collection as part of the International Forum Weekend in Washington, DC. The project features six composite flags, each bearing an element of the flags of four separate nations. These composite flags will be carried by color guards and displayed as video art while the national anthems from each nation involved are sung live in the language of the next country in the alphabet. Mosley is a research assistant and musicological expert at Duke University. The performance takes place on October 27.
