Peabody Conservatory to Offer DMA Fellowships Beginning Fall 2015

Up to Three Full-Tuition Awards May be Offered.

The Peabody Conservatory will offer new fellowships to Doctor of Musical Arts students starting in the fall semester of 2015. The Dean’s DMA Fellowships will be awarded to up to three new DMA students who demonstrate excellence in both academic scholarship and musical performance. Recipients of the fellowships will receive full tuition for the duration of their two-year residency.

“Peabody’s DMA program is one of the Conservatory’s distinguishing strengths and attracts talented musicians from all over the world,” said Dean Fred Bronstein, who will oversee selection of the fellows in consultation with the DMA Committee. “With these new fellowships, we can help the most promising young artists further their careers under the tutelage of Peabody’s renowned faculty.”

The DMA program at the Peabody Conservatory provides students with the highest level of professional training in musical performance, conducting, or composition. Applied study in the major field is supported by extensive academic work in musicology and music theory. Notable faculty members include Boris Slutsky, Leon Fleisher, Yong Hi Moon, Manuel Barrueco, Kevin Puts, and Michael Hersch.
