John Walker is first American organist to teach at Shanghai Conservatory

At the invitation from Lin Zaiyong, Director of the Administrative Board, Shanghai Conservatory of Music, John Walker will go to the school to present masterclasses and lectures at the Shanghai Conservatory from May 21 until May 28, 2015. Walker will be the guest of Zhu Lei, Professor of Organ at the Shanghai Conservatory. His visit next May will mark the first occasion for an American organist to teach at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In addition to representing the Peabody Conservatory, as national President of the American Guild of Organists, Walker is looking  to strengthen relations between the communities of organists in China and America during his visit.
