Nikita Borisevich and Margarita Loukachkina Selected for Young Artist Development Series Internship

Young-Artists-550x330Nikita Borisevich (GPD ’13, Violin; GPD ’15, Chamber Music) and Margarita Loukachkina (BM ’10, MM ’12, Piano) are the first recipients of the Young Artist Development Series internship, formed by the Peabody Institute and El Paso Pro-Musica under the artistic direction of Peabody Distinguished Alumni Award honoree Zuill Bailey (BM ’94, Cello) to promote community engagement in the study of music. The internship will take place from November 12 to 18 in El Paso, Texas, where Mr. Borisevich and Ms. Loukachkina will participate in musical outreach performances in schools and venues throughout the region, including master classes at the University of Texas at El Paso; concert appearances in El Paso, Texas, and Las Cruces, New Mexico, as part of the El Paso Pro-Musica Series; and participation in a special event with the El Paso Museum of Art to celebrate the Guggenheim Series exhibit and accompany the painting, “The Green Violinist.”
