Faculty voice artist Ah Young Hong’s performance of Milton Babbitt’s Philomel on Network for New Music’s “All the Things He Was” concert at Settlement Music School in Philadelphia on Sunday, April 17 was reviewed in The Philadelphia Inquirer. “The performance’s live singer, soprano Ah Young Hong, matched Beardsley well, in a remarkably assured performance that made her the concert’s primary heroine. She also sang pop songs by Babbitt, Kern, and Sondheim with great expression and instinctive Broadway style,” wrote classical music critic David Patrick Stearns in the review, published Tuesday, April 19. Ms. Hong will perform Philomel again in the Peabody Computer Music Consort’s Tuesday, May 3 concert.
