Music theory faculty member Joel Puckett’s composition titled It Perched for Vespers Nine has been featured on the recent release of the “The Presidents Own” Marine Band CD Picture Studies. Mr. Puckett joined the Marine Band for several rehearsals, the May 15 performance, and the recording session of the CD. It Perched for Vespers Nine is inspired by the last words of his wife’s grandfather and was commissioned by the American Bandmasters Association and the University of Florida in 2008.
