Zuill Bailey (BM ’94, Cello), who received the Peabody Distinguished Alumni Award in 2014, won GRAMMY awards for Best Instrumental Solo and Best Contemporary Classical Composition for his performance of Tales of Hemingway alongside the Nashville Symphony and conductor Giancarlo Guerrero. Tales of Hemingway, composed by Grammy Award-winning composer Michael Daugherty, was commissioned specifically for Mr. Bailey and he premiered the work in 2015 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
