Ben Naddaff-Hafrey of NPR Music comments on the piece, “The Washington, D.C., group matches the urgency of its message about political consciousness (most visible in Isaac “Deacon Izzy” Bell’s verse) with equally fiery improvisations from Meadows on piano and John Lee on guitar.”
