Faculty artist Ian Power, adjunct professor of music theory, and percussionist Eric Derr will present Home Drones: Music of Domesticity and Radiation for Percussion and Organ, a concert of immersive, intensive experimental music for electric organ, percussion, piano, electronics, and kitchen appliances on Sunday, May 7 at 5:00 pm at the Centre Street Performance Studio in Baltimore. The program will feature stones, shades by Catherine Lamb; Closed Categories in Cartesian Worlds by Michael Pisaro; and three pieces by Dr. Power, including come back to me now for crotales and electric organ; for *current* resonance for piano and percussion placed inside the piano; and Buoy for electric organ and electronic kitchen appliances. The set will close with Iannis Xenakis’ seminal multi-percussion solo Psappha performed by Dr. Derr.
