Joseph Young Conducts Detroit Symphony Orchestra

joseph-young-stage980.ashxPeabody faculty artist Joseph Young (AD ’09, Conducting) will be conducting Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s upcoming concert. The concert will be on Saturday, March 3, at 8:00 pm at the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center in Detroit, Mich. This concert marks the 40th anniversary of the orchestra’s Classical Roots Program, which honors African-American composers, musicians, and educators for lifetime achievement and raises funds to support the orchestra’s music and development programs. This year, they will honor educator George Shirley and academic leader Earl Lewis. The program will feature music by Strauss, John Rosamond Johnson, and Mozart.
