Music theory faculty member Joshua Fishbein, who studied piano at the Preparatory with Carol Prochazka, has two upcoming premieres. The first is of his Judeo-Islamic interfaith composition Allahu Echad (God is One) in Hebrew and Arabic. The piece, for choir and violin, will be performed on Saturday, March 3, at 7:30 pm at Augsburg University in Minneapolis, Minn., and again on Sunday, March 4, at 4:00 pm, at Adath Jeshurun Congregation Synagogue in Minnetonka, Minn. Both of these events will be live streamed, and are presented by the National Lutheran Choir. The premiere of Fishbein’s To the Thawing Wind will be performed at the National Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C., on March 4, at 5:00 pm. This concert is presented by the Washington Master Chorale, and it will feature Marlissa Hudson (MM ’01, Voice).
