Faculty artist Joseph Young (AD ’09, Conducting) will be the resident conductor for the 2018 National Youth Orchestra of the USA’s three-week training program in July of 2018. The orchestra is made up of 106 musicians aged 16-19 from 28 states and Puerto Rico, and were chosen through a rigorous and highly competitive audition process. The residency will be at Purchase College, SUNY, in New York. In addition to conducting, Young will lead master classes, chamber music readings, and seminars with the other faculty leading up to the orchestra’s tour in Asia.
