Master’s candidate Jonathan Rush, orchestral conducting, participated in the 2018 New York Conducting Workshop Conducting Competition and won 1st place for the Respighi Prize in Conducting. As a result, Rush made his professional orchestra debut with the Chamber Orchestra of New York in the legendary Carnegie Hall on Thursday, June 7. Jonathan Rush is a conducting student of faculty artist and Baltimore Symphony Music Director, Marin Alsop, and Chicago Sinfonietta Music Director, Mei-Ann Chen.

I recently had the pleasure of hearing young Jonathan Rush conduct a full gospel choir. It was an inspiring pleasure. He brings a passion, style and energy to conducting that is very much appreciated.
