Jonathan Rush Wins First Place and Makes Carnegie Hall Debut

RUSH Headshot 5Master’s candidate Jonathan Rush, orchestral conducting, participated in the 2018 New York Conducting Workshop Conducting Competition and won 1st place for the Respighi Prize in Conducting. As a result, Rush made his professional orchestra debut with the Chamber Orchestra of New York in the legendary Carnegie Hall on Thursday, June 7. Jonathan Rush is a conducting student of faculty artist and Baltimore Symphony Music Director, Marin Alsop, and Chicago Sinfonietta Music Director, Mei-Ann Chen.

  1. I recently had the pleasure of hearing young Jonathan Rush conduct a full gospel choir. It was an inspiring pleasure. He brings a passion, style and energy to conducting that is very much appreciated.
