The New York Times has highlighted a number of events that feature Peabody faculty and alumni in 10 Months of Classical Concerts You Won’t Want to Miss. Rosa Ponselle Distinguished Faculty Artist Denyce Graves, mezzo-soprano, will sing the role of Maria in The Metropolitan Opera’s production of Porgy and Bess. So Percussion, with Eric Beach (BM ’04, GPD ’05, Percussion), will present a program called “A Century of Percussion” in December at Carnegie Hall.. The Times also highlights the “Composer Portraits” taking place at Columbia University which will feature Composition Faculty and Chair Oscar Bettison on February 20, 2020. The ensemble Cantata Profana will perform Composition Professor Michael Hersch’s (BM ’95, MM ’97, Composition) On the Threshold of Winter in April, and will feature Associate Professor Ah Young Hong (BM ’98, MM ’01, Voice).
