Peabody Preparatory student Son Duong, a student of Professor Yong Hi Moon, received first place in the high school division for the Marian Garcia International Piano Competition on October 31st. Duong also received the U.S. National Foundation Chopin Scholarship, awarding him $1,000 for demonstrating exceptional talent and understanding of Chopin’s music. Duong will also be appearing on the musically-focused NPR broadcast “From the Top,” airing December 17.
