Chamber Music America announced the recipients of its 2024 New Jazz Works grants program, awarding $477,000 to 14 ensembles from 12 cities across the country. One of the recipients is the Baltimore Jazz Collective’s Brinae Ali, a faculty artist. The BJC was modeled on the SFJAZZ Collective and founded by faculty artist Sean Jones and includes Ali, bass clarinetist Todd Marcus, drummer Quincy Phillips, and faculty bassist Kris Funn and pianist and visiting artist Alex Brown.
