Lane Harder (MM ’07 Composition, Music Theory Pedagogy) is currently an adjunct professor of composition and music theory at Southern Methodist University. His marimba quartet, Africa Hocket, was commissioned by the Troy State University Percussion Ensemble for its premiere at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in Austin in November 2012. His transcription of Eugène Ysaÿe’s Poème Élégiaque, Op. 12 for chamber orchestra was premiered by the Catholic University of America Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C. in November. He also served as a delegate from Texas Performing Arts to the 2012 International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) Congress in Seoul, South Korea.
