Helen-Jean Talbott (MM ’09, Recorder), Preparatory composition student of Judah Adashi, won the Recorder Orchestra category of the 2014 American Recorder Society Composition Competition with her arrangement of Claude Debussy’s solo piano piece Reverie. The competition marks the 75th anniversary of the ARS; Talbott’s winning works will be published online at the organization’s website later this year. Recorder players from two local early music groups, Consort Anon and Sine Nomine, will join forces to premiere the work on a Preparatory Composition Department Recital on January 28 at 7 pm in the Cohen-Davison Family Theatre.
