Peabody Conservatory and Preparatory students will come together on Saturday, December 2 to premiere a string quartet as a part of the Dean’s Incentive Grant program. The piece, as prescribed by the guidelines of the grant, is a four movement string quartet for intermediate players. Written by master’s candidate Ledah Finck (BM ’16, Violin), and performed by a Preparatory quartet coached by Andréa Picard Boecker (MM ’08, Violin), the piece was commissioned by faculty artist and current master’s candidate Molly Wilkens-Reed. The piece is also pedagogically-appropriate, which fills a need in the repertoire for intermediate students.
